Hard work really does pay off. If you've read my last post, I was given some good business advice. I have implemented some of the ideas...and boy, has it exploded my business. That, and some help from good friends, who believe in my jewelry.
I am looking forward to doing more....I have put myself and my jewelry out there, and while I've had so no's (I didn't like it, but I lived through it!), overall my experiences have been good. I have taken the plunge and hired a part time assistant. I expect the pressure now to make me more productive. After all, it's just not all about me now!
So, it's off to plan my next series of steps...where do I want to go with this now? Good question! Off to start thinking!!!

Seriously???
I have been very lucky lately to get some really, really good business advice. Every time I implement something recommended it works! The downside is I am a one man band! There is just not enough time or energy to do what I want to do. And this last week has had some personal challenges....I cry uncle!
Venting about it one day to my hubbie got me the advice that I don't take my business seriously...Seriously??? How can I? I can't see the way to making it the most important part of my day. I'm sure it possible...I know it's possible, I am not giving up, but I'm trying to figure it out.
There have been many exciting developments in my business this year, but would like the momentum to continue....And advice? :-)

Ummm....
Been wanting to write, but there's just nothing to report! I have been on a bit of a break...lots of stuff happening on the home front. Have to stock up both homes, and finish this bathroom project. Cannot wait to get my studio back in order....I think that may have something to do with my laziness.
So, I think I'll just leave you with this sunset...enjoy!!!!

Technology? It done me wrong....
I have not had good luck with technology lately. I love technology and try to utilize all it has to offer, but it sometimes does me wrong! Recently, like last week, my laptop crashed on me....I thought it was failing long ago and had it in for repairs last November only to be told that nothing was wrong...it wouldn't do for them what it would do for me! Reminds me of someone.......
But, finally, it just wouldn't do anything...which is a bad thing! I take it back in and get it repaired. They inform me it looks like it has been dropped! Hello, this is a PORTABLE computer, they get dropped!!! They can fix it and they are also nice enough to put back all my data from my external hard drive (yes, I have one...but hadn't backed up since Nov...oh well, good in theory!) so not much data lost!
Of course the day I need to pick it up, it is raining...I mean monsooning, like it's the beginning of the rainy season! I wait for a break in weather and make a quick car ride for it....oh wait, I forgot....just before leaving I have a quick potty break....whoops...I forgot my cell phone was in my back pocket, for convenience mind you, and oh yeah, wait for it.......My cell falls into the toilet! It was like watching a movie...it teetered on the edge of the seat and just as I grabbed for it....in it went! I immediately retrieved it.....and ripped off the case....it wasn't so wet....proceeded to dry it with TP....no problem....ummm, it's doing funny things, but when it dries out it will be fine....throw the case away...never want to see it again!
Decide I need to dry out my phone....rig a getup so it is under a lamp....I'll just leave it here until I run to the computer store and PO...by then it will be fine!!
At the computer store, I confess my tragic cell incident, and get the expected smiles, while telling me my phone is toast...it's corroding away as we speak....it's over, just go get a new phone....they are such pessimists there...they love "failure" in technology....it's there job!!!
Boy, how I miss my phone...I go to reach for it at least a dozen times in the half an hour it takes me to run my errands. When I get home, I run to check my phone, but it isn't under the lamp.....it's on the brick floor....it FELL off my desk onto the floor......and DID NOT break!!! Unbelievable....re-rigged the lamp plan more securely...and several hours later....my phone works perfectly!!! yea!! Take that, computer guy....And, by the way, my newly fixed computer works great too!
Now I just need to tread lightly with them! Take care and may technology work for you today!! :-)

Power Shopping
On the way to Fairhope AL last Sunday for my trunk show, I made a quick stop at a pop up antique market at my favorite antique store in Daphne. I had my niece Brandi, and my all around helper, Joseph, with me! I had 15 minutes to shop. I gave Joseph the task of reminding me of my deadline.
The first booth had an amazing selection of vintage jewelry....I quickly picked up something to check the price...after the woman went back and forth over deciding what to charge for it, I picked up 4 other items and asked for a "bundled" deal (quoting American Pickers here!). We agreed on a price, and I handed her a $100 bill. Joseph took my bundle and waited for change. In the meantime I found more items and we agreed to no change! All in about 3 minutes! Whew! That went fast!!
Lots of jewelry here! I buy several more items, running to the next booth while Joseph and Brandi waited for the change and bags. It was so nice to have an entourage!
Almost finished with the booths, Joseph tells me time is up...one last stop...nothing to purchase and we are outta there! Back in the car, we laughed at my "power shopping". We all agreed that it was fun and I remarked they should all be impressed! And they insured me they WERE!!
Good times for sure...and I came away with some awesome new stuff to work with...a win in my book.
Until the next power shopping trip!!!
